Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to anyone booking a paid advisory call with Richard Henney, trading as a sole trader.

These terms apply to anyone booking a paid advisory call (“the Call”) with Richard Henney, trading as a sole trader (“I”, “me”).

1. What this service is

The Call is one-off advisory support: practical advice, recommendations, and guidance on websites, software, data storage, AI tools, and digital workflows for small and independent businesses.

The Call is advisory only. It does not include implementation, ongoing support, or any guarantee that recommendations will resolve your issue. Any follow-on work (builds, fixes, ongoing support) would be agreed separately and is not covered by these terms.

2. Booking process

  1. You submit a questionnaire describing your problem and business context.
  2. I review it and decide whether I can help. If I can’t, or it’s outside my scope, I’ll let you know and no charge applies.
  3. If it’s a fit, I’ll send you a payment link for the fixed fee.
  4. Once paid, you’ll receive a booking link to choose a one-hour slot.

3. Price and payment

The Call costs £120, paid in full and upfront before a slot is confirmed. Payment is taken via Stripe, processed through cal.eu.

4. Cancellations and rescheduling

  • You may cancel or reschedule free of charge with at least 48 hours’ notice before your booked slot.
  • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable.
  • If I need to cancel or reschedule, you’ll be offered a new slot or a full refund, your choice.

5. Recording and notes

With your consent, I record the Call to generate AI-assisted notes afterward. A written summary of the Call is shared with you once it’s ready. Recordings are kept for my reference and are not shared with anyone else, and are deleted after 12 months.

If you’d prefer the Call isn’t recorded, let me know in advance and we’ll proceed without it; note this may mean no written summary is provided afterward.

6. Confidentiality

Anything you share with me about your business during the questionnaire or the Call is treated as confidential and won’t be shared with third parties, except where I’m legally required to disclose it.

7. No guarantee of outcome

Advice given during the Call is based on the information you provide and is given in good faith. I can’t guarantee specific results, and I’m not responsible for losses arising from decisions made or actions taken based on that advice. You remain responsible for verifying recommendations (e.g. software choices, platform changes) are right for your specific circumstances before acting on them.

8. Your right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations)

Under UK consumer law, you normally have 14 days to cancel a service booked online. Because this is advisory work delivered live within a fixed slot, by booking a Call you agree that the service is provided in full at that time, and you waive your right to a 14-day cooling-off period for cancellations made after the Call has taken place. You retain the right to cancel before the Call under the terms in Section 4.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, my liability for any claim arising from the Call is limited to the fee paid for that Call. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
